  • A saved Channel Studio recipe and accessible content.

Two useful states

A Channel Studio recipe is the saved description of a channel: its name, selected content and programming rules. A published Live channel is the reviewed schedule that viewers can tune into. Keeping these separate lets you work on tomorrow’s idea while today’s channel continues playing.

That is why the saved-channel list can contain a channel that is absent from Live. The recipe exists, but it may not yet have a published, enabled schedule. It is also why changing settings can leave the current Live programme unchanged.

Find the right list

Open Settings → Odyssey Channel Studio → Open Channel Studio for saved channels. The list uses statuses such as Ready to publish, Schedule saved and Disabled.

Open Live → Channel Studio for published channels. That view explicitly explains that published channels appear there. Manage Channels → Manage & Delete Saved Channels provides a route back to the saved collection, including management that should not depend on a successful Live tune.

Publish a saved recipe

  1. Open the saved channel and check its settings.
  2. Choose Done to save native editor changes. On the website, use Save settings.
  3. Open or continue the review. The native app uses Publish Channel for a first publication and Republish Changes for an existing publication.
  4. Inspect the proposed start, programme preview and exclusions.
  5. Publish only when that review is ready. Wait for the confirmed result and its start time.
  6. Check the channel in Live after the indicated activation time.

The online editor may offer Review & publish or Edit programme timeline, depending on the service’s current capability. Both still require a reviewed publication; an editable private timeline is not the public schedule.

A change that should not interrupt tonight

Suppose “Evening films” is already running, and you want more comedies tomorrow. Edit its selection and save the recipe. The current published schedule continues until you publish the revised schedule. Review the proposed activation rather than assuming a save will interrupt the film already playing.

The publication result can say Channel scheduled and show a future start. It can also report that the start moved to the next available programme boundary. The website describes publishing as applying changes at the next programme boundary; trust the confirmed receipt’s actual time.

Paused, expired or uncertain reviews

Pause Preparation stops preparation while retaining the saved settings. Continue with the preparation action offered by the current screen. A preview can expire, in which case refresh or rebuild it before publishing.

If a publication is unconfirmed, the native screen offers Check Publication. Use that to find the result of the original request. Repeatedly creating a new channel or making another edit can make the state harder to understand.

A changed source or profile can invalidate the review. Reopen the channel in the correct context and prepare again. A previous preview is not continuing permission to use media after source access has changed.

Edit, disable or delete

Editing a saved recipe and disabling a published channel are different actions. In the online editor, Channel enabled is a setting; review the current state before saving and publishing changes.

Delete Channel removes the channel from the saved collection and lineup. It keeps the original films and episodes, but should not be treated as a refresh or temporary pause. This guide does not promise an undo operation for deletion.

Will publishing add new media? No. Only eligible content from your accessible sources can enter the schedule. Why do my two screens disagree? They may correctly show saved settings versus the active schedule. Compare the publication status and start time before diagnosing a fault.
