Before you begin
- A saved or published Channel Studio channel in the intended profile.
- Owner approval where required.
Choose the kind of change
A name or icon helps identify a channel. Content and schedule settings determine what it can play. Channel Studio exposes both kinds of management, but shared channels can send you to the online editor for deeper changes.
Use the intended profile and keep source access available. When Kids or parental protection requires it, protected changes need owner approval. Editing a channel never expands the media permissions of the profile or supplies films and episodes.
Name, icon and number
Rename opens Rename Channel. Enter Channel name and choose Save Name.
Change Icon opens Change Channel Icon, with built-in options such as Television, Film, Star and Cinema. Use Programme Artwork restores programme-based artwork. For a shared account channel, Upload Custom Image Online opens the online editor.
The online custom-logo control accepts PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 512 KiB. Its instructions require Save settings and publication to apply the logo to the shared channel. Do not assume choosing a file alone has changed the published artwork.
Reorder opens Reorder Channel. Enter the intended Channel number and choose Save Order. If that number is occupied, it swaps positions with the occupying channel.
Change the recipe
For a locally editable channel, Edit Channel opens the native editor. Adjust its content, schedule or history selection, then choose Done and review the prepared result. Existing schedules keep playing until revised settings are published.
For a shared account channel, Edit Channel opens the online-editor route. Scan its QR code, or use Open Online Editor on non-TV platforms. Complete the web review and publication steps described in Use the advanced online editor.
If a saved channel has no Live row yet, open the saved list through Settings → Odyssey Channel Studio → Open Channel Studio. The list may explicitly offer “Edit shared channel online” where the local editor is not available.
An example
You created “My Channel” while experimenting and now use it for weekend films. Rename it “Weekend cinema”, choose the Cinema icon and place it beside your other most-used channels. Those identification changes do not require you to remove and recreate the source.
If you also want it to alternate films and episodes, edit its schedule separately. Review the programme order and activation time so the new programming is applied deliberately.
Cancel, remove or recover
Use Close for ordinary management sheets. Online editor presentations use Back; Apple TV also supports its exit command. Leaving a screen does not imply that a completed save has been undone.
To remove the channel from favourites, use Remove from Favourites. To delete the channel itself, choose Delete Channel and confirm its deletion action. The confirmation says your movies and series are kept. If the channel is in use, stop playback before deleting it.
The channel changed elsewhere: close and reopen its menu before saving. Owner approval is required: approve Channel Studio in Settings with the appropriate owner PIN and reopen the action. Changes did not save: read the error; Odyssey preserves the existing channel on a failed management change.
Can I upload any image? Use an image you have permission to use and the supported web formats and size. Does changing an icon affect guide matching? No. Presentation and programme source identity remain different concerns.
