Before you begin
- Authorised access to the account or profile being changed
Start with access, not deletion
You can reduce what a profile sees, choose whether to share optional remote diagnostics and manage account access without deleting your Odyssey account. Start with the control that matches the problem.
A profile seeing an unwanted source calls for a source-access review. An exposed management code calls for account-security action. A request to stop diagnostic uploads calls for the diagnostics setting. These are different tasks with different effects.
This is a guide to implemented controls, not a replacement privacy policy. Read the website’s Privacy Policy for the published policy. This guide makes no additional promise about retention periods or response times.
Review a profile’s permitted sources
- Open Manage Player on the Odyssey website and authenticate to the intended account.
- In Profiles, choose Edit.
- Review Share every media source with this profile.
- For selective access, turn that option off and review Selected sources.
- Choose Save profile, then verify the result while using that profile in the app.
A profile-entry PIN can protect access to a profile. It does not change what the underlying provider permits. Likewise, a friendly profile name is not a security credential.
Choose optional remote diagnostics
- Open Settings → Advanced in the app.
- Find Share remote diagnostics.
- Set it to your preference.
- If investigating a problem, use Open Diagnostics to inspect the available diagnostic view.
The current setting describes optional uploads of app, playback, performance and crash events. It also states that turning sharing off deletes queued uploads. Do not interpret that toggle as an account-deletion request or a promise that every previously submitted server record is immediately erased.
Before sending your own screenshot or copied report to support, remove management codes, passwords, invitation links and full source URLs containing credentials. Automated filtering is not a reason to include secrets in a manual support message.
Protect the management code
A full management code is an account credential. Share only the specific identifier required by a feature: for example, Friends accepts the last four code characters or an email address. It does not ask another viewer to send their full code.
Manage Player includes Change management code. Its confirmation warns that the old code and existing player activations stop working immediately and that devices must reconnect with the new code. Read that warning before proceeding; changing a code is not an ordinary refresh.
If a code may be exposed, use the actual account-security controls. Merely changing a profile picture or a friend nickname does not revoke device access.
Worked example
A household owner wants one profile to use only a particular media server and prefers not to share optional diagnostics. They edit that profile’s selected sources in Manage Player and save. On the device, they inspect Share remote diagnostics and choose the desired setting.
Later they notice a screenshot containing a full management code was shared accidentally. They treat that as a separate security issue and review Change management code, knowing that devices will need reconnection. There is no need to delete viewing history merely to change diagnostic consent.
Account deletion is a separate action
Manage Player offers Delete account, followed by the Delete Odyssey account confirmation and Delete permanently. The form requests the credential appropriate to the account type.
The confirmation describes removal of the web account, source records, profiles, sessions and management activations. It also states that App Store purchases remain managed by Apple. Read the current confirmation and privacy policy before taking this permanent action; account deletion is not a troubleshooting step for a temporary playback error.
Questions and troubleshooting
A device still behaves differently: confirm its account, active profile and connection. Not every device setting has the same sync scope.
Can a friend see all my sources? Friendship and shared-viewing invitations do not grant provider credentials or media rights. Each flow has its own access checks.
Does changing a photo remove an uploaded file immediately? The profile control changes the selected picture. This guide does not establish a storage-deletion timetable.
Where can I find the policy? Use the published Privacy Policy and contact options on the support page rather than relying on an article for a new legal promise.
