Help from where you are
Discover Odyssey is the first Settings option in the app. It collects short explanations of setup, playback and features so you can find a starting point while using Odyssey. The online help centre gives you longer instructions to read alongside the app.
Opening help does not connect a source, change a profile or grant permission to use a service. Those actions still happen in their own screens. Odyssey supplies no media; guides explain how to work with sources you are entitled to use.
Open a topic
- Open Settings. On a compact device, use More if Settings is not directly visible in the main navigation.
- Choose Discover Odyssey, the first option.
- Look in Start Here for initial setup topics, or Explore Features for featured capabilities.
- Open More within Discover Odyssey for the remaining topics. This is the help collection’s More page, rather than the compact app navigation’s More destination.
- Select a topic and read its explanation. Where the topic offers an action to open the feature, use that action only when you are ready to leave the guide.
- Choose Done to leave Discover Odyssey.
The topics you see can differ
The guide list is filtered using the active profile and feature availability. A restricted profile may not show every topic available to an adult profile. Recording topics also depend on DVR availability in your app version. An absent article is therefore not evidence that your installation has lost all its help content.
Source availability and feature availability are separate. A guide can explain a supported workflow while the action itself requires a configured service. For example, learning about DVR does not establish that a recorder is connected or that your source permits recording.
Check your app version in Settings → About when comparing the app with an online guide. Use the version notes at the end of each guide to compare its instructions with your installed app.
Show dismissed tips again
- Return to the main Discover Odyssey page.
- Under Feature Tips, choose Show Feature Tips Again.
- Look for the confirmation that tips will appear again where you use those features.
This resets dismissed tips for the current profile. It does not reset playback preferences, clear history or recreate a source. If you use several profiles, check which one is active before restoring tips.
An example: finding Channel Studio
You have heard that Odyssey can turn a media collection into a channel but do not know where to start. Open Discover Odyssey, choose the Channel Studio topic and read the short description. Then use its Open Channel Studio action if available. Keep Create your first channel open in a browser for the fuller workflow.
The key distinction to carry into that task is that saving channel settings creates a recipe, while publishing makes a reviewed schedule available in Live. The guide is a route to that task; simply reading it does not publish anything.
Common questions
The help page closed when I changed profile. Odyssey closes Discover Odyssey when the active profile changes. Reopen it under the intended profile so its topics and actions match that profile’s access.
I restored tips but cannot see one immediately. Tips belong to relevant feature screens. Return to the feature itself; restoring them does not display every tip at once.
Does the in-app guide replace these articles? No. Use it for a quick route into a feature and the online canonical guide for examples, prerequisites and remedies. If a label differs, note your platform and build before asking support. Do not send your management code or source credentials with the report.
